The A.J. Brown trade is coming. The only remaining question is what the Eagles will get in return. According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the answer could be significant.
The Expected Return
Speaking on 97.5 The Fanatic, Fowler laid out his expectations:
"My best guess is that they already agreed to something loosely... they're probably getting a [first-round pick], maybe a future [first], maybe it's a 2028 [pick]. I don't think they'll get more than that."
Why Wait Until June 1?
The Eagles would absorb a dead-cap hit of over $40 million if they trade Brown before June 1. After that date, the hit drops to approximately $16.4 million, with the remaining dead cap spread over 2027.
The Patriots' Plan
New England has been patient, knowing Brown is likely coming their way. Brown himself has reportedly been house-hunting in Boston's Seaport neighborhood.
What It Means for Philadelphia
The Eagles have already prepared for life without Brown, drafting Makai Lemon and adding Dontayvion Wicks and Hollywood Brown. Now it's just a matter of making it official after June 1.
