All-Pro cornerback Cooper DeJean is ready to help the Philadelphia Eagles win another Super Bowl this upcoming season. The standout defensive back, coming off a historic first year that included a Pro Bowl selection and First-Team All-Pro honors, recently shared his thoughts on what it will take for Philadelphia to repeat as champions.
"I think everybody just complementing each other is the biggest thing," DeJean told On3. "Everybody coming together for one common goal. And everybody knows what that common goal is, but it starts right now in the offseason."
Historic Rookie Season
DeJean and fellow cornerback Quinyon Mitchell made history as only the second cornerback duo ever to earn First-Team All-Pro honors in the same season. The Iowa alum tallied 93 tackles, 16 passes defended, two interceptions, and one forced fumble during the regular season.
His first NFL season culminated with one of the most iconic defensive plays in Super Bowl history, returning an interception off Patrick Mahomes for a touchdown in Super Bowl LIX.
Navigating Roster Changes
Despite some roster changes, including the departure of safety Reed Blankenship, DeJean remains confident in the secondary. Joe Kasper will take over as defensive backs coach and defensive pass game coordinator after Christian Parker left for Dallas.
"Gonna miss my dawg," DeJean said of Blankenship. "Go be great brotha."
Community Impact
DeJean is also giving back to the community, participating in the Eagles Autism Challenge fundraiser that has raised over $16 million this year alone.
